The crew of Rage shares a light moment following the close finish with Kinetic V in the 2017 Oregon Offshore.
The Rage crew congratulates the crew of Kinetic V on a long, close race that came down to just a 15 second elapsed time finish difference after sailing more than 100 miles.
Rage should easily beat out Kinetic V on corrected time to win Class PHRF A1, but finishing first is an important - if not the MOST important - honor in the race each year.

Finish Alert - The Soup Is Almost Done!

Free Bowl of Soup will be finishing within the next hour, followed closely by Velocity, Anam Cara & Abstract, who should be about an hour behind the Soup.

Riva Approaching Race Passage

Making progress at 6+ knots, Riva is now less than 1 mile from Race Rocks and appears to be heading towards taking the inside route at Race Passage. She may be the last boat that takes an inside route tonight, especially if the winds abate and the currents increase.....better to be safe than sorry......Remember, timing is EVERYTHING in the Oregon Offshore race!

Kinetic V....by 15 seconds!
Apparently, the key to victory was transitioning from spinnakers to headsails on the final leg.
