Yes, we’re making changes – all for the better. We’ve moved the date so it doesn’t conflict with the Mother’s day holiday, and it puts boats into Victoria closer to the Swiftsure Race, which reduces moorage costs. We’ve also changed the criteria for winning the First Overall on corrected time to ORC from PHRF. While, you certainly can still race PHRF as there will be an accommodation for PHRF classes we encourage you to consider shifting to ORC to have a chance at that award. And then, finally, as many other offshore races have done, we’re using virtual starting and finishing lines this year. This change has allowed us to move the finish away from being directly off Ogden Point and away from cruise ship traffic.

Our host city again this year will be Ilwaco, Washington. They have been tremendous partners for us. Lots of details to follow, but registration is now open.

To register follow this link: Pacific NW Offshore Registration. We’re pulling out all the stops to make sure we can see you in Ilwaco and on the new virtual starting line near Buoy 2 off the mouth of the Columbia. Any help you need to make it happen including acquiring your ORC rating, we’re here for you. Just send us a note to: race.captain@cycportland.org.

Here’s to a fantastic and safe race!

Corinthian Yacht Club of Portland, along with its title sponsor Schooner Creek Boat Works, is proud to present the 48th edition of the Pacific NW Offshore Yacht Race. The race will challenge your sailing skills, navigation ability, tactical skills, and offshore endurance. One hundred ninety-three miles long, this race from the mouth of the Columbia River up the Washington coast and down the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Victoria, BC will test the competitiveness of your boat and give you a chance to face true offshore racing. The race continues to be a great way to qualify for the Pacific Cup race and to get your boat north for Washington sailing events, and for summer cruising.

Come join us in the Port of Ilwaco our host city, attend the pre-race Skipper’s Meeting and other events on the Long Beach Peninsula as we get ready to head out the Columbia River to the totally unique starting line near Buoy 2 just off the Oregon coast.

There’s nothing like it! Be there!

Race: May 16-19, 2024

All race and venue information is in the Race Information.
